Inter, Onana: “I’m here to play”

INTER ONANA – Inter are continuing their preparation in view of the upcoming matches of the season, tonight the neroazzurri will challenge AS Monaco in a friendly match.

Inter, Onana: “I’m here to play”

André Onana, the new Inter defender, gave a long interview to the microphones of Dazn. The African goalkeeper has touched on various topics including his desire to play the starter despite Inzaghi having confirmed that, at least temporarily, Handanovic will be the starter. Here are the words of the former Ajax goalkeeper:

On the disqualification for doping and competition with Handanovic:

I am very happy to be here, in this club that is very close to the players. Everything is going great. I have been to Barcelona, I have been to Amsterdam and by staying here I have noticed that there are different things but also others that are very similar to Spain. The thing that changes the most for me is goalkeeping training and I’m really enjoying it here. Here we see football in a different way, there is another way of thinking and I believe this will help me a lot ”.

On Samuel Eto’o’s advice:

Inter is a great club. From the moment I spoke with Piero Ausilio, he immediately gave me his word and kept it. The speech he gave me touched me and I was very happy. I already knew Inter because Eto’o played here, I spoke to him before the transfer and he said to me: “André, Inter is the right club for you. It is a club with many ambitions and always aiming to win and since you are a winner I think it is the right club for you ”.

On the championship:

I think it’s a competitive championship, but I always say that the most important thing is to focus on ourselves and not look at the others because I know that if we are well we can win. This is why I don’t think about our opponents ”.

Finally, on friendship with Romelu Lukaku:

Lukaku is a great player, you already know that. He wrote the history of this club. He has done important things for this great family and is also a wonderful person and I’m happy to share the locker room with him. We trained in Sardinia, but we were already together in Miami, but we couldn’t publish anything because his passage was not yet official. We were there and we were waiting for Inter to formalize it, but we were already training together and then we went to Sardinia. We stayed there a few days preparing for the pre-season and challenging ourselves to penalties, in free-kicks. We had great fun”.
